Falla: Nights in the Gardens of Spain

Manuel de Falla first conceived of this piece as a set of nocturnes for piano, then expanded the idea to make it a piece for piano and orchestra. Not really a piano concerto, it’s more a tone poem with a prominent piano part. It’s exceptionally atmospheric night music.

Performed by Gonzalo Soriano (piano) and the National Orchestra of Spain, conducted by Ataulfo Argenta (22 minutes)
