Telemann: Oboe Concerto in D Minor

Maybe he is destined always to be in the shadows of more famous Baroque composers like Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi, but Telemann deserves better. He is one of the greatest and least appreciated composers. The subtlety of Telemann’s musical sense is matched by a very expressive Heinz Holliger in this recording.

Performed by Heinz Holliger (oboe) and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, conducted by Iona Brown (9 minutes)
